REVIEW: Satisfactory Six Pack Cotton v-string thong set From Temu

By The Treasure-Sharer

cotton v string pack for women, taken from Temu product pageIn my last article, I reviewed a six pack of cotton LOVE YOU panties for women from Temu, that ended up being a total bust in terms of their quality -- starting to deform and fall apart after only a few wears, and really appearing to confirm the saying that "you get what you pay for." I didn't think that it would be fair to leave you thinking that all of the women's cotton panties packs from Temu were bad, so I decided to review another set of ladies cotton panties that I bought from Temu -- a cotton v string pack -- that actually ended up being pretty decent in quality. See above and below for images of the six pack set of cotton v strings for women that I ordered from Temu, taken from its Temu product page, including front and back views, an image of the v-string thong set with the thongs all folded, and a close-up of a peach-colored individual cotton v-string thong panty.

I had actually ordered the cotton v string pack and the LOVE YOU panties at the same time, from different sellers on Temu, thinking that they were similar in look, style, and price, but with the cotton v-strings having a thinner, string-like banding, and not having the words "LOVE YOU" on the banding. I thus received and started wearing the cotton v-strings at the same time that I started wearing and using the LOVE YOU panties, and wore them for the same period of time that I was wearing the LOVE YOU panties, so I thought that it would make it even easier to compare the two sets of cotton thongs for women from Temu.

I think that the reason why I ordered two sets of similar-style Temu thongs was that I had looked through all the other cotton thongs available on Temu, and read reviews about them, and these particular styles of Temu thongs appeared to have the least bad reviews, in reference to the quality described by those who had previously purchased them. I also thought the other designs of cotton thongs looked pretty plain and boring, and not attractive.

The cotton v-strings and LOVE YOU thongs had probably the two cutest designs of the cotton panties with good reviews that I could find, so I tried not to be picky.

They were also the cheapest sets of the styles of cotton panties that I didn't mind that I could find at the time.

This set of cotton v-strings was made of 95% cotton, 5% elastane, like the other panty set was. You can read my LOVE YOU panties review for an explanation of why my man and I prefer our clothing to be made of cotton, and aren't fans of elastane, though we do tolerate small amounts of it sometimes.

I like wearing pretty things, and enjoy wearing clothes that I know that my man will enjoy seeing me wearing, and the Temu cotton thong options were pretty lackluster, in that regard. None of them made me excited, so I doubted that they would do anything for my man, either, but I made do by choosing what I thought looked the best, or at least the most interesting, out of the available options. I thought that the LOVE YOU wording on the LOVE YOU panties, and the thin black and white stripe border designs on both of the cotton thong sets made them at least less boring than the other available options, though I didn't like the ribbed design and athletic-looking feel to each panty.

Because none of the available options were ones that my man or I would categorize as "sexy," I tried to go for a style that at least looked "cute," which is what I think the two panty packs I ended up choosing were closer to than most of the other cotton panty options. I had shown the two options to my man before I had I ordered them, so I at least knew that he was okay with them, even if he and I didn't love them.

I ordered the cotton v string underwear because I thought that it was actually slightly sexier-looking than the LOVE YOU thongs. I thought that the back part of the thongs was slightly thinner, and showed more skin, and also liked the waistband more, which was more like a string.

So basically, for those with significant others, the LOVE YOU panties send a better verbal message, while the thong set with the more string-like waistband and back area sends a sexier visual message, which is why I thought that it might be worth me ordering them both.

I didn't realize that the panties in the second set of cotton thongs were actually v-strings until writing this review, as I saw that this set of thongs is described in the product page as "[t]hongs / [v]-strings."

Discovering this made it make a lot more sense to me why I liked their look a bit more than the cotton LOVE YOU panties for women.

The panties in both sets came in similar colors, with the difference being that the LOVE YOU panty set came with a red panty, while the v-string thong set came with a grey panty -- with the remaining colors (navy blue, black, white / cream, peach, and green) being very similar, although the shades of green of the thongs were a bit different. (Check out my photos of the LOVE YOU panties in my LOVE YOU panties review, if you want to see the colors of the LOVE YOU panties, to compare them with those of the v-string panties.)

I'm going to focus on talking about the second set of v-string thongs for the remainder of this review, since I already talked about the LOVE YOU panties in my previous review.

V-strings vs. Thongs

The Benefits of V-Strings

As the article Thongs 101: What are the Styles of Thongs describes, "Normally a [v]-string has a triangular piece of fabric at [the] top back that sits at the top of the butt. Then the sides are strings. The pouch and triangle fabric in [the] back are connected with a string the same width as the sides."

In contrast, it describes the traditional thong as "the thong that most likely would come to mind when someone says thong, with the tail width usually around an inch wide. Typically the sides are of similar width[,] giving a uniform T appearance when looking at the back."

As the description for V-String vs Thong: What's the Difference? from the Fleur du Mal website says, "At first glance, a v-string thong and a classic thong may look similar, but the difference lies in coverage. A thong typically has a wider waistband and slightly more fabric at the back, while a v-string underwear style is pared down to the bare essentials, slim straps and a daring V silhouette. The result? A panty that disappears under clothing but makes an unforgettable statement when seen.

The v-string is all about minimalism. Its slim sides and barely-there back mean no visible panty lines, making it perfect under fitted skirts, dresses, and trousers."

I prefer v-strings to thongs, for doing a better job of hiding panty-lines when worn under clothes, and for looking better when worn as lingerie, with v-strings being sexier and more flattering.

The guide Thong vs G String vs V String 2026: Which is Best for You? selected the v-string as the "ultimate winner" among the three, giving as its reasoning the following:

"For 2026, the [v]-[s]tring emerges as the most versatile and effective solution for seamlessness and modern comfort. Its innovative [v]-shaped rear panel, combined with advanced seamless side construction, provides unparalleled invisibility under a vast range of contemporary fashion. While thongs remain a staple for everyday fitted wear and [g]-strings offer extreme minimalism for specific scenarios, the [v-string] strikes the optimal balance. It delivers the crucial [visible panty line] elimination desired by most, coupled with a level of comfort and discreet fit that surpasses traditional options, especially under smooth, thin, or light-colored fabrics. It's the go-to choice for the discerning individual prioritizing a flawless silhouette without compromising on wearability."

I agree with the article's description that v-strings are "[a]n excellent all-around choice for seamlessness across a wide range of outfits, from daily wear to formal events, especially effective with modern, smooth-textured fabrics," with the example that they are perfect for high-waisted leggings or a sleek, satin evening gown.

V-strings are my preferred choice for everyday wear, due to their versatility.

The article's description for g-strings says:
"G-Strings: Reserved for specific situations requiring absolute invisibility under very revealing or tight garments. Often chosen for intimate occasions or specialized fashion needs. Example: Best for a sheer dress or ultra-low-rise, skin-tight pants where any fabric line is unacceptable."

I think that g-strings are more of a thing that you would wear for intimate moments with your significant other, and I don't own any non-lingerie g-strings. As the article mentioned, g-strings offer no support, and I'd be scared of them breaking during athletic activity, so I think that they function 100% for the look (and lack of visibility) they give. For these reasons, I think that if you're going to go for a g-string, then you're better off picking them based on how good they look, and for how good your significant other thinks they look on you.

I haven't found v-strings to be any less comfortable than normal thongs, and also find that they result in less visible panty lines than regular thongs, so I think that the v-string has the best overall look and feel, among the different styles of thongs.

I am very comfortable with wearing v-strings, since I wear them and thongs on a regular basis, and I don't find v-strings to be any less comfortable than thongs or regular panties, since I am so used to wearing them. I think that it's really a matter of wearing them a few times to get used to them, if you haven't owned v-strings before.

Of thongs, the article says, "Thongs: Versatile for everyday wear with fitted clothing, suitable for work, casual outings, and many formal events. Best for those seeking [visible panty line]-free options without extreme minimalism. Example: Ideal for wearing under standard denim jeans or a pencil skirt."

As I said, I prefer v-strings to typical thongs, as I like that they are less visible overall, look better, and feel more comfortable, at least to me.

Cutting Contrast Binding Design

The v-string product description said that the v-strings had "contrast binding," which, when I looked it up, had AI tell me that, "Contrast binding in [g]-strings and thongs refers to the decorative or functional elastic trim sewn along the edges of the fabric that is a different color from the main body. This design creates a sharp visual outline, frames the minimal cut, and adds extra stretch to the waistband and leg openings."

Now that I know what it is, I think that contrast binding attracts me because it makes what might otherwise be boring-looking underwear look a little more intesting.

See below for an image of the individual white cotton v-string panty, taken from the Temu product page, to better illustrate the contrast binding of the sharp black lines against the white v-string panty:

Material Quality

Because they are undergarments, the material of the cotton v-string underwear is more delicate than normal clothing. The product page says to "Hand wash, do not dry clean." Be sure to keep that in mind, if you decide to buy a cotton v-string pack to try out for yourself.

I made sure that both of the sets of cotton thongs were handwashed, but the cotton v-string panties kept their shape and quality much better than the cotton LOVE YOU panties did. The cotton v-strings haven't shown any damage in the months that I've worn them (apart from some of the black thread of the back of the white v-string fuzzing out a little), in stark contrast with the LOVE YOU panties, that even developed holes, rips, and loose threads in them.

I did experience a bit of itching wearing the Temu cotton v-strings, and I wonder if it was due to the 5% elastane in the fabric. I think that over time, I stopped feeling itchiness, so I don't know if my body got used it, it got washed out a bit, or what, but I did question if the panties were actually cotton initially because of it.

I did like that the v-strings in the cotton v-string pack were more of a stretch cotton v string panty style because of the bit of elastane in the material, though I don't like the toxicity of the elastane.

Gem or Junk?

For us:

Gem-Junk Cusp (2 stars and a half)

While there was nothing wrong with this cotton v string pack from Temu per se, there was also nothing remarkable about the v string thong set, which is why I don’t necessarily want to call it a gem, even though I also wouldn’t classify it as “junk.” The v string thongs for women
look like the v-strings in the advertised product page photos, so they were fine in that sense -- it’s more the fact that the cotton panty and cotton thong options available for sale on Temu don’t look that great, such that even the best of the cotton underwear that Temu has to offer, at least to my man and me, aren’t really gems.

My man and I both like beautiful things, and none of the cotton panty options on Temu are what we can describe as being “beautiful.” The product title describing the cotton v string thongs
as “sexy” is also not accurate, in our eyes, as the Temu thongs are more athletic-looking than anything. They look and feel like something I would wear to work out or go for a run in.

Their v-string style is probably their saving grave, as they don’t even say LOVE YOU on the band like the other thong set did, so at least they show a tiny bit more skin than the LOVE YOU panties set did.

I’m glad that they are at least mostly made of cotton, though I would prefer 100% cotton v-strings, with no elastane, if Temu had any available.

I don’t know why a ribbed design was chosen for this cotton v string thong set, as it really kills any sexiness that the cotton v-strings could have had, which is why I would describe them more as “cute” than “sexy.”

I think that a thong or v-string cut are not enough to make a panty “sexy” -- it’s also how they look on you, and how they look to your man. Athletic-looking v-strings like these ones are like wearing a plain t-shirt and jeans with your man: they’re okay, but far from exciting.

The six pack v string set color palette is also quite drab, filled with neutral, dark, and light colors, with nothing bright that pops. These cotton v strings feel like everyday underwear that you wear under your clothes, and don’t really go out of your way to show anyone.

If you’re looking for a cotton v string women can wear every day, without worrying about them slipping or getting in the way of strenuous physical activity, or tight-fitting or more-revealing clothing, then these cotton v-strings should do the trick.

I think that you’d still need to switch to lingerie, if you were wearing these cotton v string thongs, and wanted to look sexy for your partner.

My man agrees that he would give the cotton v-string pack 2 stars and a half out of 5, for many of the same reasons that I have given. He's not a big fan of the colors, as he tends to like bright, colorful colors, but he supposes that if you wanted to have stuff that blends in with your clothes, these are probably fine. He thinks that they look more sporty-looking than sexy, and that, while they could be a little arousing because of their v-string cut, they are not as effective as lingerie.

He supposes that if you and your significant other are a workout couple, or are people who work out a lot, then the style could be appealing to some men. Because he doesn't expect girls to wear lingerie when they're working out, he thinks that, from a working out perspective, they could be flattering.

He thinks that they look slightly more interesting than panties that don't have the contrast binding, though he is also okay with regular panties with solid colors, if the design is well-done, rather than having a solid color, but being ugly. He thinks that these cotton v strings are adequate -- not super-special, but do the job -- and that they're definitely better than the falling-apart-after-a-few-wears LOVE YOU panties.

Generally speaking, he doesn't like when the waistband of a panty is too thick, and would like LOVE YOU panties more if they said "LOVE YOU" once on the front, instead of having the words "LOVE YOU" repeating on a wider waistband, so it would have been even better if the words "LOVE YOU" had been added to the front of the cotton v-strings in this six pack v string set.

Conclusion:

I'm actually glad that I bought the cotton v string pack from Temu at the same time that I bought the LOVE YOU panties that I reviewed in my last review, as it allowed me to compare the two sets, and see that not all cotton panties and cotton thongs from Temu are bad quality (which I might have thought, if I hadn't gotten to see the drastic difference in quality between two very-similar cotton panty sets).

Because of this, I wouldn't tell you to write off Temu as a source for buying cheap cotton underwear, or cotton v-strings in particular, so if you're looking for six pack v string sets that you can use for everyday wear, then this cotton v string pack from Temu is worth checking out.
